Seasonal Beer Release: Helles
This Thursday, 7/3/25, we’ll be releasing July’s seasonal, Helles Lager.
We’re currently recovering from celebrating our 9th Anniversary with Riggs-Fest 2025, but that doesn’t mean that we aren’t excited about Helles. We take the style seriously and don’t make any compromises in bringing an authentic, fresh example of the style to the fine folks of Illinois.
Our Helles Lager is brewed with 100% Bavarian malt and hops. We perform a traditional decoction mash on each batch of Helles to coax out hints of honey from the Bavarian Pilsner malt. Whether on draft or in a can, we hope that you’ll enjoy a Riggs Helles (or two) sometime in the coming days.
Since Helles is the staple beer of Bavarian beergardens, we wanted to bring some German fare with it. The German Food Truck Inc. will be here this Thursday for the release date from 4 to 8 pm. Besides their normal menu, they will bring a Bavarian highlight: Obatzda (Bavarian cheese spread) with a spiralized white radish and pretzel. Grab Obatzda along with your Helles and toast beergarden season with a hearty “Prost!”
