Live Music: Jake Tatar

Jake is the former lead singer of the Boat Drunks who has retired from the touring life to be home with his kids. He is still playing occasional solo shows, or duo shows with good friend Andy or his son Jackson. He tries to play songs we all like but don’t necessarily hear all the time. And he’s brushing up on his piano chops and hopes to bring that along with him. What will you hear? He was the primary songwriter for the Boat Drunks three albums, and you’ll definitely hear those. He is hugely influenced by the Beatles and will be incorporating them into the show. He grew up in the 80s, and despite opinions from his elders, the entire decade didn’t suck, so he’s picking some really cool tunes from the 80s, 70s, 90s, current pop, country… anything that he deems cool has made the list.
