  • Seasonal Beer Release: Doppelbock

    Seasonal Beer Release: Doppelbock

    3:00 PM-10:00 PM
    03/05/2020

On March 5th, we’ll be releasing March’s Seasonal Beer: Doppelbock

Doppelbock is our strong, malty German lager. Doppelbock delivers loads of grain derived complexity; dark toasted bread, brown sugar, a hint of roast. But what makes Doppelbock so special is – in true lager fashion – it finishes incredibly dry and clean.
This traditional German recipe was originally brewed by monks to help them endure their periods of fasting during the season of Lent. We used 100% German ingredients and performed an old-school German mashing regimen, double-decoction, to deliver an authentic example of this style to Central Illinois. Decoction helps to build Doppelbock‘s deep, yet clean malt character.

  • Live Music: Jake and Jackson

    Live Music: Jake and Jackson

Jake & Jackson (Tatar) are a father-son duo that formed in 2015 when Jake retired as the lead singer of the Boat Drunks. Jackson, in 7th grade at the time, was a great drummer, piano player, and singer, and he and Jake would perform at community festivals and other family events together. Since then, Jackson (now a junior in high school) has quickly learned the guitar and the duo now brings a piano and acoustic guitars. Jake has written dozens of his own songs and the duo often play these originals, with Jackson taking the lead on the songs his father recorded. This isn’t a typical musical duo; the two mix piano and guitars, switch instruments and lead vocals, and add other interesting musical touches that make their music sound nothing like anyone else is doing. And that’s reinforced in their musical catalog–they perform songs from every decade from the 1960s to the 2010s, and it’s typically material you won’t hear other bands/duos/musical acts cover (Howard Jones, Shenandoah, John Prine, and REO Speedwagon to name a few).

    No cover charge.
