Doppelbock delivers loads of grain derived complexity; dark toasted bread, brown sugar, a hint of roast. But what makes Doppelbock so special is – in true lager fashion – it finishes incredibly dry and clean. This traditional German recipe was originally brewed by monks to help them endure their periods of fasting during the season of Lent. We used 100% German ingredients and performed an old-school German mashing regimen, double-decoction, to deliver an authentic example of this style to Central Illinois. Decoction helps to build Doppelbock‘s deep, yet clean malt character. ABV: 8.0% IBU: 18 Grain: Pilsner, Munich, CaraHell, Roasted Barley Hops: Magnum, Hersbrucker, Mittelfrüh Food will be available from Piato To-Go food truck from 4:30-7:00pm. The Doppelbock pairs well with their Dancing Pig, Italian Beef, Carolina Pulled Pork, and sweet potato fries.
